Marc Fogel is first and foremost a loving father who derives his greatest joy from exploring this beautiful planet with his wife, Jane, and two sons, Ethan and Sam.

Together, they have lived in Colombia, Malaysia, Oman, Venezuela and Russia and have visited numerous other countries.

Despite being a nomad by nature, he is a Yinzer (native of Pittsburgh, PA) to the core. No matter where he lived, finding a Steeler’s bar was always a priority. And the travel itinerary always included a few weeks in the ‘burgh to reunite with his mother, Malphine, his sisters, Anne and Lisa, and his many nieces and nephews. Marc brought with him recipes, ingredients, art and artifacts to spread his love of learning new cultural traditions. Simply put, the man loved to celebrate and study all peoples and their creative pursuits.

Marc’s passionate curiosity about global cultures and their histories inspired hundreds of students, many of whom went on to study diplomacy or education. In fact, his son Ethan followed in his footsteps and became a political science teacher at the John F. Kennedy American School of Queretero, Mexico.

Marc does not deserve this politically motivated and inhumane sentence. He deserves to come home and enjoy retirement in the arms of the family, friends and global community he has cultivated for decades.

“Marc is a friend of mine. We worked together at the International School of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. He is a gentle soul who doesn’t deserve this extreme punishment.”
